Urban Repair Rerik, a local competition project, aims to revitalise a small section of the town through restoration and new construction, thereby contributing to the town’s development. On the competition site, in addition to school buildings such as a kindergarten, primary school and Freischule, there is a residential building for the elderly, a youth club, and a holiday apartment building (Ferienwohnung). Furthermore, there is an old residential building whose ground floor houses a daycare centre and a driving school, while its upper floors are currently derelict. As part of the project, the city and its needs were analysed, and the condition of the buildings on the site was examined to plan their renovation. In addition to restoration work, the project involves functional changes and the addition of a new building to the site.
